this could very well be a problem on my end but is anybody else having a problem with image addresses being copied to the clipboard when you use your own s3 account? The pictures are being uploaded into the correct bucket/folder but for some reason tiny grab is not putting the address into the clipboard OR the upload history (and YES I do have the option for copy to clipboard after upload checked)

I have tried a complete re-install of the app and even deleted all the settings in my library folder between installations and still no dice.

Excellent question. That is *not* just a problem on your end, but rather a weakness in the way Amazon’s S3 API currently works – or at least how it’s implemented in TinyGrab right now.

With S3 in particular, there’s no easy way to get back the public URL from Amazon after uploading, partially because files may be uploaded privately or to a private bucket, which means there *isn’t* a public URL.

We’re still working on this and trying to come up with a better solution…

quick and dirty solution would be to just add an extra config line to the S3 connection prefs within the app called “Root URL”

kinda like how transmit does it..

I got a notice from TinyGrab (the application) that there was an update available (2.5), and I clicked “Install Update”, but keep getting the error “The update is improperly signed”.

What should I do about that to be able to update to the latest version? Or should I perhaps hold on and let it become 2.5.1 or something before using it, in case it’s not entirely stable?

Hi Leo, you can install it now – it is stable. The old version (the one you are currently using) had a broken auto-updater so it won’t accept *any* signature as valid.

To get around, please visit http://www.tinygrab.com/download.pho to get the latest version. Future updates should work fine :)

    Sorry for the confusion!

So when will we be getting the existing features of SFTP and private/long filenames built back in? And can the popup to name/describe the screenshot be optionally disabled?

SFTP will be added to the client in the next version (expected in the next couple of weeks), private/long filenames will be added as a server feature in the online control panel (also in the next couple of weeks), and the popup for details is already option – in the TinyGrab > Preferences > Screenshots pane, uncheck the box for “Edit Details before Uploading”
